Layered Printmaking

Last week I was so fortunate to escape the never-ending snow and head to Florida to spend a week with the Fiber Forum, a group of embroiderers within the Embroiderer’s Guild of America.Layered screen printingstitching and dyeing
We dyed, we stitched, we screened, we waxed, we thermofaxed, we discharged—WE LAYERED IT ALL! See some of the students pieces. there were many more wonderful results! I had a great time working with adventurous embroiderers.screen printing with dye

Spacious high-ceilinged studios invite creativity. And wonderful chef-cooked meals kept the eighteen of us very happy. Atlantic Center for the Arts

We even had some free time to wander on the beach, with all the others on their spring breaks.New Smyrna Beach, FL Not far from Daytona, the custom here is to drive the vehicles down to the waters’ edge. I had never seen traffic signs on the beach before. It was a wonderful week!

Hi Geri, Look up on the sidebar at the top of this page, and there is a box to enter your email for the newsletter. I will be doing classes on the West Coast several times in 2016. The venues and dates are set, and workshops are being selected. As soon as this process is complete I will add them to my website calendar and announce them in my newsletter.

Carol, you cannot imagine what a Pandora’s Box you helped me open with the dyeing thread. This is total addiction. Thank you for your patience and excellent notes and presentation. I may never be the same, and while my husband mourns the loss of the garage and the sink there, I set up the dye bottles and soda ash bucket for the next round. He is waiting for me to “finish.” So hard to explain that there is never a finish line with color. . .

Hi Nancy, I am so happy you are enjoying your threads. You put your finger right on it! I do so love how color never ends….
